Rao Narbir Singh Lays Foundation of Biodiversity Park in Rewari

Haryana Minister for Environment, Forest and Wildlife Rao Narbir Singh laid the foundation stone of the Rao Mohar Singh Biodiversity Park and Amrit Sarovar at Budhpur village in Rewari district on Friday. The event, however, was marked by the conspicuous absence of prominent local BJP leaders, including Rewari MLA Laxman Singh Yadav and district president Vandana Popli, highlighting ongoing factionalism within the ruling party.

Park Named After Minister's Grandfather

The biodiversity park, the second of its kind in the state, is named after Rao Mohar Singh, the grandfather of Rao Narbir Singh. This naming is seen as a move to bolster the minister's influence in the Ahirwal belt. The park spans 30 acres and will feature over 150 species of trees and plants, including medicinal plants. It will also include an open gym and other amenities for the local population.

Minister's Response to Absent Leaders

When questioned about the absence of MLA Laxman Singh Yadav and BJP district president Vandana Popli, Rao Narbir Singh stated that Yadav is an MLA like him but he was unaware if the organisers had invited him. Regarding Popli, he suggested she might have had political compulsions that prevented her attendance.

Appeal for Environmental Conservation

Addressing the gathering, Rao Narbir Singh emphasized the park's significance as a gift to the region and urged villagers to support the state government and Forest Department in its development. He called on everyone to participate in the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, encouraging the planting and care of saplings. He also exhorted the villagers to boycott polythene bags and use jute or cloth bags instead.

Government Initiatives for Environmental Protection

The minister highlighted the government's efforts towards environmental protection, including the development of medicinal forests and plantation campaigns. The biodiversity park is expected to significantly benefit the local community by providing green space and promoting ecological sustainability.
