The Bihar State Religious Trust Board has mobilized religious institutions across the state to assist NEET re-exam candidates and their guardians during the ongoing heatwave. Board chairman Ranbir Nandan confirmed that temples, maths (monasteries), and dharamshalas near examination centres have been directed to offer free drinking water, roasted gram (chana), and jaggery.
Arrangements at Key Exam Centres
In Patna, facilities have been set up near several centres, including Bapu Examination Complex, Miller High School, Patna Science College, Magadh Mahila College, and Patna Women’s College. Nandan stated that the initiative aims to support students travelling long distances for the exam.
Mahavir Mandir's Special Provision
Mahavir Mandir near Patna Junction will serve chilled sattu drink from 7 am on Sunday. Shri Mahavir Sthan Nyas Samiti secretary Acharya Kishore Kunal announced that two counters have been set up outside the temple, with around 1,000 kg of roasted gram arranged for the drink, considering the expected influx of candidates arriving by train.
Broader Relief Efforts
These measures are part of a larger effort by religious organisations across Bihar to provide relief to candidates and their accompanying family members during one of the country’s largest medical entrance exams. The NEET re-exam is being held amid severe heatwave conditions, prompting various community initiatives to ensure the well-being of aspirants.
