Tree for Anyone Who Asks Campaign Launched in Navi Mumbai

The Sandeep Naik Foundation launched the 'Tree for Anyone Who Asks' campaign in Navi Mumbai on Thursday, marking World Environment Day. The Foundation has been actively involved in environmental conservation for over 25 years.

Campaign Launch Event

Former MLA Sandeep Naik symbolically distributed saplings to school students, representatives of environmental organizations, and public representatives during the launch event. Citizens can obtain free saplings from the Foundation not only on World Environment Day but throughout the year.

Call for Year-Round Commitment

Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Naik emphasized the need to preserve Earth's natural wealth for future generations. He noted that climate changes have led to unseasonal rains, hailstorms, droughts, and floods, harming both people and ecosystems. Environmental conservation should not be limited to World Environment Day but should be a year-round commitment with eco-friendly practices adopted daily.

Naik urged everyone to avoid activities harmful to nature in daily life. He also appealed to involve students and youth in expanding the environmental movement, suggesting tree plantation in schools, colleges, housing societies, public spaces, industrial zones, and hilly areas using species suited to local conditions for long-term survival.

Importance of Tree Survival

Naik stressed that planting saplings alone is not enough; ensuring their survival and growth is equally important. He expressed confidence that environmental conservation can become a people's movement through collective efforts.

The program was attended by school students, environmental organization members, corporators, and many nature-loving citizens. The initiative has been successfully implemented across Navi Mumbai for the past three years and will continue this year.

How to Get Saplings

Institutions and individuals requiring saplings can register their request between 9 am and 5 pm on mobile number 9326183525. Saplings will be provided free of cost by the Foundation.

Foundation's Long-Term Efforts

For over 25 years, the Foundation has conducted large-scale environmental conservation in Navi Mumbai and other cities, including being among the first to undertake mangrove restoration. It also organizes awareness and cleanliness drives at railway stations, residential areas, industrial zones, schools, and colleges. Drawing and essay competitions are held to encourage environmental awareness among students, and the Foundation provides guidance and support to tree plantation initiatives by other organizations.
