Vadodara: The city experienced a welcome spell of rain late on Wednesday, providing much-needed relief to residents who had been reeling under the summer heat. The showers, which were predicted by weather officials, began around 10pm and continued intermittently in most parts of the city.
As dark clouds gathered over the city, many residents rushed indoors while commuters sought shelter from the sudden downpour. However, some localities also reported brief power outages following the rain.
Light showers continued in parts of the old city on Thursday morning, keeping the weather pleasant. Desar taluka in Vadodara recorded nearly 2 inches of rain during the past 24 hours. Several areas in neighbouring Panchmahal district also received rainfall, bringing relief to farmers and residents alike.
Weather officials have forecast the possibility of more light to moderate showers in the coming days as monsoon conditions gradually strengthen across Gujarat.
