New Delhi: The national capital experienced a slight temperature rise on Saturday, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that a fresh western disturbance would bring respite before the heat could return. A yellow alert has been issued, forecasting rain and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday.
Temperature Details
The maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 36.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 23.8 degrees Celsius. The IMD stated, "A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from May 10. Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 3-4 degrees during the next 3 days and fall by about 2 degrees thereafter. Gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees during the next 3 days and no large change thereafter."
Upcoming Forecast
The maximum temperature is expected to rise to 38 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 39 degrees Celsius on Monday, and then drop to 37 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Monday and Tuesday, indicating the possibility of rain and thunderstorms.
Air Quality
The air quality in Delhi was recorded as moderate, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 116 on Saturday, compared to 100 (satisfactory) a day earlier. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and take necessary precautions.
