Officials stated that the relocation of villages from critical wildlife habitats is a priority to ensure the safety of both residents and animals. The proposal will be forwarded to the central CAMPA authority for final approval.

Karnataka has several protected areas, including national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, where human settlements pose challenges to conservation. The relocation process is expected to be carried out in phases with the consent of the affected communities.
