Complete Communication Blackout for Former Pakistan PM
The son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has raised alarming concerns about his father's safety amid what he describes as a complete communication blackout during the 73-year-old leader's extended imprisonment. Kasim Khan, in an emotional social media statement, revealed that the family has had no contact with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader for weeks, creating serious worries about his wellbeing.
845 Days of Imprisonment: Solitary Confinement Details
According to Kasim Khan's detailed account, his father has now spent 845 consecutive days under detention, with the situation dramatically worsening over the past six weeks. The former cricket star turned politician has been kept in solitary confinement in what Kasim described as a "death cell" with absolutely no transparency from authorities.
The family's attempts to establish communication have been systematically blocked, despite clear court orders permitting visits. "His sisters have been denied every visit, even with clear court orders allowing access," Kasim stated in his social media post. "There have been no phone calls, no meetings and no proof of life. Me and my brother have had no contact with our father."
International Intervention Sought Amid Growing Concerns
The 26-year-old son strongly rejected official explanations for the communication blockade, asserting that this absolute blackout is not a security protocol but rather "a deliberate attempt to hide his condition and prevent our family from knowing whether he is safe."
Kasim Khan didn't mince words when assigning responsibility, stating that the Pakistani government and its handlers will be held fully accountable legally, morally and internationally for his father's safety. He specifically called upon global human rights organizations and democratic nations to demand accountability and work toward "the release of Pakistan's most popular political leader."
The situation has drawn parallels from within the family itself, with Imran Khan's sister Noreen Niazi comparing the current political environment to Hitler's Nazi Germany. She alleged that her brother is being subjected to intense pressure and torture to force him into exile, similar to what previous political leaders like Nawaz Sharif and Zardari experienced.
As the political tension escalates in Pakistan, the international community faces increasing pressure to respond to what the Khan family describes as a grave human rights violation against one of South Asia's most prominent political figures.
