A leopard that had wandered into an unused toilet in a village in Chikkamagaluru district was successfully rescued by a veterinary team on Thursday. The incident occurred in a rural area, causing panic among local residents who spotted the trapped animal.
Rescue Operation Details
A veterinary team led by Dr Shravan Singh Rathore from Tyavarekoppa in Shivamogga arrived at the village and administered a tranquilizer to the leopard through an opening in the roof of the toilet. The operation was conducted with precision to ensure the safety of both the animal and the people nearby.
Expert Handling
Dr Rathore and his team carefully monitored the leopard's response to the tranquilizer before safely extracting it from the confined space. The leopard was later taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center for observation before being released into its natural habitat.
The rescue was a collaborative effort involving local forest department officials and wildlife experts. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any wildlife sightings to prevent such incidents.
