Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Netherlands has emerged as one of India's top five investors following high-level talks with his Dutch counterpart. The leaders signed several memoranda of understanding (MOUs) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed ways to enhance trade, investment, and technological collaboration. The Netherlands is now among the top five sources of foreign direct investment for India.

The agreements covered areas such as water management, agriculture, renewable energy, and innovation. Both sides expressed commitment to deepening ties in these fields, which are crucial for sustainable development.
The Dutch PM praised India's economic reforms and ease of doing business, stating that Dutch companies are keen to expand their presence in India. He also highlighted the potential for collaboration in smart cities and infrastructure development.
Strategic Partnership
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a strategic partnership based on shared values of democracy, rule of law, and multilateralism. They discussed regional and global issues, including climate change and the Indo-Pacific region.
PM Modi thanked the Netherlands for its support during India's COVID-19 pandemic efforts and expressed hope for continued cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
The visit is expected to give a further boost to bilateral trade, which has already crossed $15 billion. Both sides agreed to work towards increasing trade volumes and exploring new avenues of economic engagement.
