Heatwave Returns to Rajasthan, Barmer Sizzles at 45.7°C
Rajasthan Heatwave: Barmer Hits 45.7°C, More Heat Ahead

After a brief respite, large parts of Rajasthan are once again reeling under intense heat, with several districts in western Rajasthan recording temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Barmer remained the hottest place in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 45.7 degrees Celsius, according to the Met office.

The Met office has warned that heatwave conditions are likely to intensify further as no western disturbances are expected in the coming days. The rise in mercury levels is attributed to active upper-air cyclonic circulation and the absence of western disturbances. Although cloudy conditions may prevail in some parts of the state, temperatures are expected to rise further. From Monday onwards, several places in western Rajasthan are likely to record maximum temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius.

Following Barmer, Jaisalmer recorded 45.0 degrees Celsius, Phalodi 44.8 degrees Celsius, Jodhpur 43.9 degrees Celsius, Chittorgarh 43.8 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 42.2 degrees Celsius, Jalore 41.1 degrees Celsius, Udaipur and Sri Ganganagar 41.0 degrees Celsius each, Bhilwara 40.9 degrees Celsius, Pali 40.8 degrees Celsius, Kota 40.4 degrees Celsius, and Ajmer 40.2 degrees Celsius.
