SGPC sends 290 pilgrims to Pakistan for Maharaja Ranjit Singh event

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will send a jatha of 290 pilgrims to Pakistan to participate in the death anniversary commemorations of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Gurinder Singh Mathreval, secretary of the Dharam Parchar Committee, SGPC, said a total of 302 passports were sent for visa processing for the pilgrimage visit to Pakistan. He stated that visas were issued to 290 pilgrims, while 12 applicants were denied clearance by the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

Mathreval added that the jatha will depart on June 21 morning from the SGPC headquarters and is scheduled to visit several gurdwara sites in Pakistan before participating in the main commemorative event marking the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh on June 29, before returning to India on June 30.
