The incident took place on Tuesday evening when the teenager, identified as Rohan, a resident of Haridwar, had come to visit the ghat with his family. According to eyewitnesses, Rohan's spectacles accidentally fell into the river while he was standing near the water's edge. In a bid to retrieve them, he jumped into the river but was immediately caught in the swift current.
Rescue Efforts Underway

A rescue operation was launched, with divers searching the river for the missing boy. However, due to the strong currents and increasing water levels, the search has been challenging.
