Tirumala Laddu Sales Hit All-Time High in May 2026

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has reported an all-time high in laddu sales for the month of May 2026. The sacred prasadam, a hallmark of the Sri Venkateswara Temple, saw unprecedented demand, with a total of 1,21,35,528 laddus (12.13 million units) sold during the month.

Record-Breaking Figures

This year's May sales mark a significant increase over the previous two years. In May 2024, TTD sold 1.01 crore laddus, while in May 2025, the figure rose to 1.10 crore. The 2026 numbers represent a growth of approximately 10% year-on-year, underscoring the enduring popularity of the iconic sweet offering.

Factors Behind the Surge

TTD officials attribute the record sales to a combination of factors, including an increase in pilgrim footfall, enhanced production capacity, and streamlined distribution channels. The temple trust has been modernising its kitchen operations to meet the rising demand without compromising on quality or sanctity.

The prasadam, known as Srivari Laddu, is prepared under strict hygienic conditions and is considered a divine blessing by devotees. Each laddu is made from a secret recipe that includes gram flour, ghee, sugar, and dry fruits.

Impact on Devotees

For millions of devotees, receiving the laddu is an integral part of their pilgrimage to Tirumala. The record sales reflect not only the growing number of visitors but also the deep spiritual connection people have with the offering. Many devotees purchase multiple laddus to share with family and friends who are unable to make the journey.

TTD has assured that it will continue to maintain the quality and availability of the prasadam, even as demand grows. The trust is exploring further expansion of its production facilities to ensure that every devotee can partake in the blessed offering.
