Bhopal Weather Alert: Day Temp Rises, Night Plunges, Fog Warning Issued
Bhopal sees unusual temp swing, fog warning for MP

Residents of Bhopal are advised to brace for significant weather fluctuations as the city recorded a stark contrast between day and night temperatures on Sunday. The meteorological conditions presented a unusual scenario where the daytime warmth was notably above normal, while the night turned surprisingly colder than the seasonal average.

Temperature Swing: Day Heat, Night Chill

On Sunday, the maximum day temperature in Bhopal was recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius. This reading was two degrees above the normal mark for this time of the year. Conversely, as the sun set, the mercury dipped sharply. The minimum night temperature settled at 8.0 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below the normal average for the city.

State Records Extreme Chill, Fog Alert Active

The cold wave was even more pronounced in other parts of Madhya Pradesh. Kalyanpur in Shahdol district registered a biting minimum temperature of just 4.8 degrees Celsius, highlighting the regional spread of the chill. The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning for fog formation in several areas across the state, which could impact visibility and travel in the coming days.

Forecast: Clear Skies But No Major Respite

According to the Met office forecast for Bhopal on Monday, the sky is expected to remain clear with hazy conditions. However, the respite from the cold during evening and night hours is unlikely for the next few days. Citizens, especially those commuting early in the morning or late at night, should remain cautious of the fog warning and the significant drop in temperature after dark. This erratic pattern underscores the need for appropriate clothing and preparedness for reduced visibility on roads.
