CL Aggarwal DAV Model School, Sector 7-B, Chandigarh, celebrated Van Mahotsav Week alongside a vibrant Mango Mela, engaging students from Grade I to X in a series of eco-friendly activities. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students.
Student Participation and Activities
Students enthusiastically participated in creating innovative objects from waste materials, writing essays and poems on environmental themes, and designing awareness posters. Kindergarten students captivated the audience with special eco-themed performances, highlighting the importance of nature conservation from a young age.
Mango Mela and Dignitaries
The event concluded with an exotic display of mango varieties, featuring chief guest Maheshinder Singh Sidhu, area councillor, Sector 7, and special guest NK Jhingan, Secretary, Environment Society, Chandigarh. Both dignitaries joined the students in planting saplings and taking a green pledge to protect the environment.
Principal's Address
Principal Jyotika Ahuja praised the students' creativity and encouraged them to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. She emphasized the school's commitment to nurturing environmental stewardship through such initiatives.
