Gurgaon Weather Alert: Strong Winds to Grip City for Three Days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating that Gurgaon is likely to experience strong surface winds over the next three days. This comes as dry weather conditions persist across the entire state of Haryana, with no immediate relief from rainfall expected.

Western Disturbance Drives Gusty Conditions

According to the weather office, the anticipated gusty winds at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab are attributed to a western disturbance moving across the middle tropospheric westerlies. While IMD has not issued any rainfall warnings for the state, officials have cautioned residents that the wind conditions could significantly affect daily activities. This is particularly true for those in open areas and along major roads, where visibility and safety may be compromised.

Temperature Trends Across Haryana

On Thursday, temperatures across Haryana saw a slight increase. Gurgaon recorded a maximum temperature of 22.2°C, which is approximately 1.5°C higher than the previous day. Faridabad emerged as the warmest location in the state with a high of 24.1°C. Other notable readings included:

  • Nuh: 23.6°C
  • Hisar and Bhiwani: 23°C each
  • Rohtak: 21.6°C

The state's average maximum temperature rose by around 1.2°C and remained close to normal levels, as reported by IMD.

Rising Minimum Temperatures

Minimum temperatures also showed an upward trend. Gurgaon recorded a low of 8.6°C, about 2°C higher than the previous day. Faridabad registered 9.8°C, while Rohtak saw 9.4°C. In contrast, Narnaul and Bhiwani were the coldest spots, recording minimums of 6.5°C.

Forecast for the Coming Days

IMD has projected that minimum temperatures are likely to rise by approximately 2°C over the next 48 hours. This increase will be followed by a brief dip before temperatures climb again by 2 to 4°C. With dry conditions forecast to continue throughout the coming week and no weather warnings in place for Haryana, strong surface winds are expected to remain the dominant weather feature in Gurgaon and nearby districts over the next few days.

Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather advisories and take necessary precautions, especially when traveling or working outdoors, to mitigate the impacts of the gusty conditions.
