Rajasthan Heatwave Alert: Temperatures Soar Past 38°C, Dry Spell Ahead
Jaipur witnessed a significant surge in temperatures across Rajasthan on Friday, with maximum readings crossing 35°C in numerous regions. According to the Meteorological Department, Chittorgarh and Jaisalmer emerged as the hottest spots, both touching a scorching 38°C.
Heatwave Conditions Loom in Western Rajasthan
The weather department has attributed this steady temperature rise to active northerly winds and forecasts that dry conditions will persist statewide over the coming days. Officials have issued warnings, indicating that heatwave conditions may develop in parts of western Rajasthan if temperatures approach the 40°C mark.
In Jaipur, warmer conditions were evident, with a minimum temperature of 20.2°C recorded—approximately 5.1 degrees above the normal range. The maximum temperature reached 36.0°C, nearly 6.7 degrees higher than the seasonal average.
