The Ferozepur police have arrested four individuals, including a woman and her 15-year-old son, and seized 7.8 kilograms of heroin along with three mobile phones in a significant anti-drug operation.

Details of the Arrest

Ferozepur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bhupinder Singh Sidhu stated that the action was carried out following a tip-off. The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) wing in Zira conducted a raid near the Feroze Shah bus stand, leading to the arrest of Akashdeep alias Akash of Betu Kadim and Robin Kumar of Panje Ke Uttar. The duo was allegedly involved in heroin trafficking and was waiting for customers at the time of the arrest.

The police seized 1.5 kilograms of heroin along with two mobile phones from them. A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Ghall Khurd police station.

Further Recoveries and Links to Pakistan Smuggler

During interrogation, accused Robin Kumar disclosed that more heroin was stored at his residence and implicated a woman and her juvenile son in the smuggling racket. Subsequent raids led to the recovery of an additional 6.3 kilograms of heroin and another mobile phone.

SSP Sidhu revealed that the mother-son duo, along with the other accused, had been actively involved in heroin trafficking for several months. They were in contact with a Pakistan-based smuggler named Shah Pathan, who allegedly passed on instructions regarding the receipt and delivery of drug consignments.

Ongoing Investigation

The official confirmed that a forensic examination of the seized mobile phones is underway, and further disclosures are expected as the investigation progresses.
