A significant security alarm was raised in Bengaluru on Sunday, just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit, following the discovery of two gelatine sticks in close proximity to the main event location. The explosives were unearthed during a routine security sweep conducted on Sunday morning, approximately three kilometers away from the venue where the Prime Minister was anticipated to arrive.

According to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bengaluru's Central Range, the gelatine sticks were found lying on the side of a footpath. The DIG stated, "During checking, two gelatine sticks were found on the side of the footpath, nearly 3 kms away from the main venue where PM Modi was scheduled to arrive. Further investigation is under way." This incident has triggered an intensified security review in the area.
Heightened Security Measures
The discovery comes on the heels of a prior alert from intelligence agencies, which had placed Delhi on high alert due to potential terror threats. In response, Delhi Police and other security forces have ramped up surveillance at multiple sensitive locations. An official confirmed, "Police have been directed to maintain strict vigil on suspicious movements, unattended objects and vehicles parked in sensitive zones." These measures aim to preempt any untoward incidents during the Prime Minister's engagements.
