A man narrowly escaped serious injury while a buffalo was killed in a mild explosion at a garbage dump in Malerkotla, Punjab, on Tuesday. The incident took place in the Dargah Sharif area when a sanitation worker was clearing garbage using a tractor. Suddenly, a blast occurred, causing panic among locals.

The explosion was not loud but strong enough to throw debris several feet away. The worker, identified as Ramesh Kumar, suffered minor injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition is stable. The buffalo, which was grazing nearby, died on the spot.
