Satellite Photos Expose Devastating Impact of US-Israel Strikes Across Iran
Newly released high-resolution satellite imagery has unveiled the extensive scale and geographic reach of the ongoing military campaign targeting Iranian facilities by the United States and Israel. The photographs, captured by satellite intelligence firms Vantor and Planet Labs, provide a stark visual account of visible damage at multiple strategic locations across Iran, including missile bases, naval installations, drone facilities, and airport infrastructure.
Widespread Damage to Military Infrastructure
The satellite images, taken on various dates, illustrate the impact of a sustained air campaign that has targeted military infrastructure across large swathes of Iran. Key sites affected include the Garmdarah missile base on the outskirts of Tehran, where several buildings have been heavily damaged. In Isfahan, a facility used for storing, producing, and launching ballistic missiles, including Ghadr missiles, was struck, with Israel's military stating the action aimed to reduce missile launches from the site.
Naval installations have also suffered significant harm. At the Konarak Naval Base, satellite photos show damaged buildings and a capsized vessel, while the military harbour in Bandar Abbas experienced fires, with smoke billowing from at least four military vessels burning for over 24 hours. Additionally, the Khorramabad Missile Complex saw two tunnel entrances destroyed, along with nearby support buildings.
Civilian Casualties and Broader Impact
Beyond military targets, the conflict has reportedly struck several civilian buildings in the capital and other parts of Iran. Among the deadliest incidents, Iranian officials reported a strike on a school in the southern city of Minab, claiming it killed at least 160 people, including children. Satellite imagery corroborates damage in this area, highlighting the broader humanitarian toll of the strikes.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have acknowledged striking dozens of targets across Iran, including air defense systems, to expand aerial control over Iranian airspace. This campaign reflects a concerted effort to degrade Iran's military capabilities amid escalating tensions.
Analysis of Strategic Targets
The satellite evidence points to a focused assault on Iran's missile and naval assets. Facilities in Hormozgan Province, such as the Khorgu Missile Base, show clear damage, underscoring the precision and reach of the strikes. The destruction of tunnel entrances at Khorramabad suggests efforts to neutralize hidden missile stockpiles, a critical component of Iran's defense strategy.
As the conflict continues, these images serve as a powerful testament to the ongoing military engagements, with implications for regional stability and international relations. The visible damage across diverse locations indicates a comprehensive targeting approach by US and Israeli forces.
