Of the 30 aircraft sorties, 26 crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern, central, southwestern, and eastern parts of the Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). The MND stated in a post on X: "30 sorties of PLA aircraft, 7 PLAN vessels and 5 official ships operating around Taiwan detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 26 out of 30 sorties crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern, central, southwestern and eastern part ADIZ. ROC Armed Forces have monitored the situation and responded."
Escalation Over Previous Days
This activity follows a pattern of increased Chinese military presence. On Thursday, the MND detected 22 sorties of Chinese military aircraft, of which 20 crossed the median line into Taiwan's northern, central, and southwestern ADIZ. The MND noted that these aircraft included J-16, H-6, and KJ-500 models, and they conducted joint air-sea training and long-distance flights to the western Pacific. Earlier on the same day, five sorties of Chinese aircraft, six naval vessels, and five official ships were detected, with two aircraft crossing the median line into the southwestern ADIZ.
