Three NSCN-K Insurgents Arrested in Arunachal Operation

Dibrugarh: In a coordinated operation on Thursday, a joint team of the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police apprehended three insurgents belonging to the NSCN-K (Nikki Sumi) faction in the Wancho Colony area of Khonsa, located in Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district.

Details of the Apprehended Individuals

The three individuals taken into custody have been identified as Wingan Agan, aged 33, Jhonny Riba, aged 21, and Khechan Khetey, aged 30. According to an official statement, all three are associated with the NSCN-K (Nikki Sumi) faction, an armed group that operates in parts of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.

Recovered Items

During a search of the apprehended individuals, security forces recovered two 7.65 mm pistols along with their magazines, nine live rounds of 7.65 mm ammunition, three mobile phones, three SIM cards, and three GPRN letters. Additionally, brown sugar with an approximate street value of Rs 500 was seized during the operation.

Handover and Investigation

Following the operation, all three apprehended individuals, along with the recovered items, have been handed over to the Arunachal Pradesh Police at Khonsa for further investigation.
