Two powerful roadside explosions rocked Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday, leaving at least seven people dead and three others injured, according to senior police official Yasir Afridi.
Details of the Blasts
The first explosion targeted a vehicle in the Bannu district, which lies near the Afghan border. Shortly after, as rescue workers and locals gathered at the scene, a second blast occurred, causing additional casualties.
Afridi stated that both devices were controlled remotely. Five people lost their lives in the initial blast, while two more died in the subsequent explosion. The wounded have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Ongoing Investigation
A search operation is currently underway to apprehend those responsible for the attacks. Authorities are working to identify the perpetrators and prevent further incidents.
The area has witnessed sporadic violence in the past, but the twin blasts mark a significant escalation. Officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
