Ukraine Unveils Advanced Killer Drone Arsenal, Pioneering Remote Warfare

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has offered a detailed preview of the country's expanding long-range missile and drone capabilities, describing them as a "real force already at work." In a recent address, he highlighted an array of innovative systems that are reshaping modern combat.

Long-Range Strike Drones with Historic Reach

Zelensky began by emphasizing Ukraine's long-range strike drones, noting their impressive operational range. "Flamingo and Ruta, Peklo and Neptune, Palianytsia and Vilkha — we can already take pride in all of these, but we certainly won’t stop here," he stated on social media platform X.

He revealed that these drones can reach targets up to 1,750 kilometers from Ukraine's border, marking a historic achievement in aerial warfare. Additionally, he mentioned other systems like Sichen, Liutyi, Morok, Bars, Obriy, and FP as further proof of Ukraine's technological advancements.

Ground Robots Saving Lives on the Front Line

The Ukrainian leader then turned to Kyiv's ground robots, which he said have been instrumental in preserving human life. Systems such as Ratel, TerMIT, Ardal, Rys, Zmiy, Protector, and Volia have completed over 22,000 missions in just three months.

"More than 22,000 lives were spared when a robot entered the most dangerous areas instead of a soldier," Zelensky added. "This is high technology safeguarding our highest value — human life."

Naval Drones and Real-World Operations

Finally, Zelensky discussed Ukraine's naval drones, contrasting theoretical discussions about global conflicts with Kyiv's practical experience. He pointed to the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has effectively blockaded following US-Israeli strikes, as a "theoretical discussion," while highlighting Ukraine's own real-world operations in the Black Sea against Russia as "unprecedented."

He named naval drones like Sea Baby, Magura, and Sargan as well-known examples, noting that these are part of Ukraine's export offerings. Zelensky also underscored Ukraine's production capabilities, stating that the country produces artillery at the largest scale in Europe, with increasing numbers of shells and more effective armor each year.

Context and Broader Implications

Zelensky made these remarks in a congratulatory address to workers of Ukraine's defence-industrial complex. Meanwhile, in an interview with German broadcaster ZDF, he expressed concerns about the impact of the Iran war on US support for Ukraine.

He warned that the United States "have no time for Ukraine" due to the conflict, making US arms deliveries "a big problem." "If the war goes on, there will be less arms for Ukraine. It's critical, especially in materials for air defences," he said, highlighting the challenges in sustaining military aid amid global tensions.

This unveiling of Ukraine's drone arsenal underscores the nation's commitment to leveraging technology for defense, saving lives, and maintaining strategic autonomy in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.
