JALANDHAR: The Vajra Corps commemorated the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Vajra Shaurya Sthal in Jalandhar on Saturday. The event was marked by profound respect and military traditions, paying tribute to the courageous soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Vijay in 1999.

The ceremony saw the participation of serving personnel, veterans, and dignitaries. Lt Gen Amit Kabthiyal, YSM, SM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Vajra Corps and GOC 11 Corps, placed a floral wreath at the memorial. He was joined by other senior officers and attendees who laid wreaths to honor the fallen heroes. The solemn occasion served as a reminder of the high price paid for the nation's sovereignty.

Addressing the gathering, Lt Gen Amit Kabthiyal recounted the unparalleled fortitude displayed by soldiers during the Kargil War. According to an official statement, he reiterated the Armed Forces' unwavering resolve to support the next of kin of the martyrs. He exhorted all ranks to draw inspiration from this noble legacy and uphold the rich heritage of the Indian Army and the honor of the National Flag. The GOC emphasized that the sacrifices of the brave would never be forgotten.
