According to Nottinghamshire Police, a red Vauxhall Astra struck multiple pedestrians at Market Place in Arnold at around 1:10 AM local time. One man suffered life-threatening injuries, while four others sustained less serious injuries. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and three victims were taken to hospital for treatment.

Driver Abandons Car, Escapes on Foot

Police said the driver abandoned the vehicle shortly after the incident and fled the area on foot. Officers have identified a suspect, believed to be a white man, and searches are ongoing to locate him, as reported by the BBC. Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow said the incident would have caused “serious concern” in the community and appealed for witnesses and anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage to come forward.

A large police cordon remained in place on Saturday as investigations continued. Roads around Market Place, including parts of Gedling Road, Derby Street, Hallams Lane, and Central Avenue, were closed to traffic.
