An Indian student from Andhra Pradesh, Hari Karasani, has gone missing in the United States during a solo trip to Alaska, prompting a search by authorities. The Alaska State Troopers have issued a bulletin seeking information from the public regarding his whereabouts.
Timeline of Disappearance
Hari Karasani was officially reported missing on January 3. He was last seen physically leaving the Aurora Denali Lodge in Healy, Alaska, on December 31, 2025. According to his family and friends, the last communication anyone had with him was a phone call on December 30.
His roommates in Houston, Texas, revealed that Karasani had embarked on his journey from Houston to Alaska on December 22. He had informed them of his plans to return within two weeks, around January 3 or 4. After December 31, his mobile phone was switched off, which initially led his contacts to believe it was due to poor network coverage in the remote Denali region.
Alarming Details and Concerns
However, further concerns arose with reports of a disputed Lyft transaction on his credit card. His friends have expressed deep worry, noting that temperatures in the Denali area plunged to as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit after he vanished. They highlighted several critical points:
- Hari Karasani does not know how to drive.
- There has been no discernible financial activity on his accounts since his disappearance.
- They have no information about his activities or location after he left the lodge.
The combination of extreme weather, his lack of driving ability, and the complete cessation of communication has turned this into a critical missing person's case. The Alaska State Troopers continue their investigation, urging anyone with information to come forward.
