Florida Man Faces Murder Charges After Three Tourists Found Dead Near Disney World
A 29-year-old Florida man now faces serious murder charges. Authorities identified him as Ahmad Jihad Bojeh. This follows the tragic discovery of three tourists shot to death near Walt Disney World.
Law enforcement arrested Bojeh on Saturday afternoon. They charged him with three counts of first-degree murder. Officials describe the shooting as unprovoked and cold-blooded. The victims were simply vacationing in the area at the time.
Deputies Respond to Reports of Gunfire
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office received reports of gunfire around 12:13 p.m. on Saturday. The incident occurred at a rental home on Indian Point Circle. This location sits in the Indian Hills subdivision of Kissimmee.
This neighborhood is frequently used by tourists visiting the famous Walt Disney World resort. When deputies arrived at the scene, they made a grim discovery. They found three men dead from gunshot wounds right in front of the home.
Sheriff Christopher Blackmon provided details about the killings. He described them as both random and premeditated. The sheriff emphasized there was no known conflict between the suspect and the victims.
"This was just random," Blackmon stated clearly. "And this happened to be the person who lived next door."
Identifying the Victims
Authorities have now released the names of the three men who lost their lives. The victims are:
- Robert Lewis Kraft, 70, from Holland, Michigan
- Douglas Joseph Kraft, 68, from Columbus, Ohio
- James John Puchan, 69, also from Columbus, Ohio
Robert and Douglas Kraft were brothers. All three men were staying at the rental property as tourists. Investigators shared additional information about their situation.
A fourth member of their group had actually left the property the day before. The remaining three men found themselves stranded due to car trouble. This mechanical issue forced them to extend their stay at the rental home.
The Suspect's Background and Arrest
Ahmad Jihad Bojeh lived right next door to the rental home where the victims stayed. Sheriff Blackmon described him as a "troubled person." Bojeh was apparently a frequent subject of law enforcement calls in that neighborhood.
"I can tell you he was a threat to that neighborhood all the time," Blackmon said frankly. "He was a known person, a frequent flier to the sheriff's office."
Authorities took Bojeh into custody about an hour after the shooting. They found him inside his residence without any incident. The arrest proceeded smoothly for law enforcement.
Prior Arrest and Mental Health History
Court records reveal Bojeh has a prior arrest history. In 2021, authorities arrested him after he allegedly fired a gun at a person and multiple vehicles. This incident occurred in a Wawa gas station parking lot in Kissimmee.
That shooting injured one man. Surveillance video from that event reportedly showed Bojeh shooting at passing cars. Despite video evidence and witness accounts, the court later found Bojeh not guilty by reason of insanity.
A competency hearing was scheduled in that earlier case. Sheriff Blackmon said concerns about Bojeh persisted even after that legal ruling. The community remained worried about his presence.
Following his recent arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at Bojeh's home. They recovered two firearms during that search. Authorities are now investigating whether either weapon was used in the recent killings.
Current Status and Investigation
Bojeh is currently being held at the Osceola County Jail. He is being held without bond at this time. Officials assure the public there is no ongoing threat to the community from this suspect.
However, authorities emphasize the investigation remains in its early stages. They continue to gather evidence and piece together exactly what happened. The tragic event has shocked both local residents and the tourist community.
