Viral H-1B Visa Fraud Claims Debunked: Attorney Clarifies Role, Exposes Inaccuracies
H-1B Visa Fraud Video Debunked: Attorney Sets Record Straight

A recent viral video making explosive claims about H-1B visa fraud has sent shockwaves through the Indian diaspora, but official records and the accused attorney himself have now thoroughly debunked the allegations.

Controversial Video Sparks Widespread Concern

Social media influencer Kaylee Campbell, using the Instagram handle kayleeashlynn, posted a video making serious allegations against Telugu attorney Chand Parvataneni. She claimed he approved 400,000 H-1B visa applicants, with the number ballooning to 700,000 in 2025 alone. The video further alleged that 66 applicants shared the same apartment address, suggesting fraudulent activity.

The video gained massive traction after former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene reposted it. Greene, known for her "America First" stance, used the video to renew her calls for eliminating the H-1B program entirely. She even introduced a bill, HR6937, to scrap the visa category, calling the alleged situation a major scam.

Official Data Tells a Different Story

However, the numbers presented in the viral video simply do not match reality. According to data from myvisajobs.com, Chand Parvataneni is not among the top attorneys filing the highest number of H-1B applications. The records show him in third place as an individual attorney, while his firm ranks 11th with 3,327 applications filed—a far cry from the hundreds of thousands alleged.

Attorney Chand Parvataneni Sets the Record Straight

Speaking to TOI, Chand called the viral video "skewed" and lacking any legal basis. "The data available in public domain shows that I am not even the topmost attorney in the USA, both in law firm size and as a single attorney," he stated firmly. "The video is not only inaccurate but is a conspiracy to defame Indians."

Chand expressed frustration that some people continue circulating the video even after Kaylee Campbell deleted it from her accounts and apologized to him personally. He emphasized that the creator has retracted the false claims.

Clarifying the Attorney's Actual Role

In a detailed video response, Chand explained the fundamental misunderstanding about how H-1B visas work. "Most importantly, I do not approve visas as alleged in the video," he clarified. "All decisions pertaining to visas solely rest with USCIS and the Department of Labour."

He outlined his actual responsibilities: "As an attorney, my role is limited to filing petitions for bona fide positions based on employer-provided documentation and strict legal attestations. Every filing is subject to rigorous government vetting and FDNS scrutiny."

Chand further emphasized his professional integrity: "I have no financial interest or ownership in the companies we represent and perform my duties strictly in accordance with law." He noted proudly that he has received zero complaints in his 15-year legal career.

Background and Context

Chand Parvataneni completed his schooling in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad before pursuing higher education. He is an alumnus of the prestigious IIT Kharagpur, demonstrating his strong academic background before moving to the United States.

The controversy emerges during a particularly challenging period for H-1B visa applicants. The Donald Trump administration has implemented tighter rules, including a proposed $100,000 fee for the visa, making the program increasingly difficult to navigate.

This incident highlights how misinformation can spread rapidly on social media, causing unnecessary panic within immigrant communities. It also underscores the importance of verifying sensational claims against official data and statements from directly involved parties.
