Conservative commentator Tim Pool has launched one of his most direct attacks yet on fellow media personality Candace Owens. The explosive clash centres on Owens' continued promotion of controversial claims surrounding the murder of Charlie Kirk, which many within the conservative movement have labelled unproven and damaging.
The Spark: A Podcast and a "Paid-For-Hit-Job" Allegation
The latest round of hostilities ignited after Owens interviewed a man named Mitch Snow on her podcast. Snow, who described himself as a former military member, made startling claims. He stated he saw Charlie Kirk’s chief of security, Brian Harpole, at Fort Huachuca in Arizona one day before Kirk was shot. He also alleged he saw Erika Kirk at a hotel lobby on the military base on the evening of September 8.
These claims immediately triggered a backlash online, with many influencers questioning Snow's background and the lack of evidence for his story. On December 28, conservative influencer Evan Kilgore posted on X, revealing that people connected to Owens' source had contacted him with concerns about Snow's past behaviour. Kilgore said he shared evidence and was subsequently attacked by Owens' supporters.
Owens fired back at Kilgore, questioning why he was "coordinating X posts via text with other influencers." Comedian Jimmy Dore then jumped to Owens' defence in a quote post, alleging the criticism was a "coordinated paid-for-hit-job by social influencers."
Tim Pool's Fierce Rebuttal and Escalating War of Words
Tim Pool strongly rejected Jimmy Dore's viewpoint. In a sharp response, Pool did not hold back, writing: "Candace is a deep state shill trying to pull suburban women away from the right. Trump won with MAHA because it got him suburban female voters. Candace is trying to break that." Later the same day, Pool simply commented "Respect" on Evan Kilgore's post, signalling his alignment.
The controversy deepened further when Owens accused Andrew Kolvet of secretly directing YouTubers to defend Erika Kirk. However, YouTuber Gary Melton of the Paramount Tactical channel pushed back against this narrative. During a December 26 livestream, Melton shared screenshots of messages with a Turning Point USA spokesperson who had shared photos of Erika Kirk with her children from the morning of September 9.
Melton admitted he mixed up dates while speaking live but denied Andrew Kolvet directed any response. He stated Kolvet only asked him not to publicly share the images and accused Owens of twisting facts. Candace Owens has since continued to criticise those investigating her source's background, arguing they crossed personal lines.
Broader Implications for the Conservative Movement
This public feud highlights a significant rift within conservative media circles. Tim Pool has repeatedly warned that Owens' comments on the Charlie Kirk case are harming the conservative movement and confusing voters. The incident underscores the intense debate over sourcing, evidence, and the direction of political messaging among influential right-wing voices.
As claims and counter-claims fly across social media platform X, the fallout from this clash continues to unfold, with public figures choosing sides and the core allegations regarding Charlie Kirk's murder remaining fiercely contested and unproven.
