Trump Ramps Up Rhetoric on Iran, Shares Social Media Post of Isfahan Strikes
US President Donald Trump escalated his rhetoric and messaging regarding America's military campaign against Iran early Tuesday, emphasizing the scale of strikes conducted under Operation Epic Fury. Reports indicate that B2 bunker busters were utilized in these operations.
Trump shared a social media post on Truth Social without a caption, depicting Iran's Isfahan site engulfed in flames. The footage showed massive explosions illuminating the night sky over Isfahan, a city with a population of approximately 2.3 million people and home to the Badr military airbase.
Details of the Strikes and Targets
According to a US official cited by The Wall Street Journal, American forces targeted a large ammunition depot in Isfahan using 2,000-pound bunker-buster bombs. The operation reportedly involved a significant number of penetrator munitions.
Isfahan is also known to house enriched uranium associated with Iran's nuclear program. The city had previously been targeted during a US strike last summer under Operation Midnight Hammer, which focused on its nuclear facilities.
Trump's Warning and Context
Earlier, Trump had warned that Iran's energy infrastructure could be "obliterated" if a deal was not reached soon. This latest social media post underscores his aggressive stance and the ongoing tensions between the two nations.
The escalation in rhetoric and the visual evidence of strikes highlight the intensifying conflict and the strategic importance of Isfahan in Iran's military and nuclear operations.
