State Department Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott provided further details on the revocations. He explained that the affected foreign nationals faced charges or convictions for various crimes. These offenses include assault, theft, and driving under the influence (DUI). Pigott noted that the Trump administration achieved this milestone in less than one year. He described it as a crucial move in enforcing immigration laws more rigorously.
According to a Fox News report, the number of visas revoked in 2025 sets a new record. It more than doubles the total revoked in 2024 under former President Joe Biden. This sharp increase underscores the administration's aggressive approach.
