BEML Ltd, a leading manufacturer of mining and construction equipment, has reported a stellar financial performance for the fiscal year 2025-26, achieving record revenue and demonstrating robust strategic growth momentum. The company's revenue surged to ₹5,200 crore, reflecting a 22% increase compared to the previous fiscal year, driven by strong demand across its key business segments, including mining, construction, and rail.

Key Financial Highlights

The company's net profit also saw a significant uptick, rising by 18% to ₹680 crore, underpinned by operational efficiencies and cost optimization measures. BEML's order book stood at a healthy ₹12,000 crore as of March 2026, providing strong visibility for future revenue streams. The company's EBITDA margin improved to 14.5%, up from 13.2% in FY 2024-25, reflecting better product mix and pricing power.

Segment-Wise Performance

Mining & Construction: This segment contributed the largest share of revenue, accounting for 55% of total sales. Revenue grew by 25% year-on-year, driven by increased infrastructure spending and mining activity in India. The company secured major orders for dump trucks, excavators, and dozers from coal and mineral mining companies.

Rail & Metro: The rail segment recorded a 20% revenue growth, fueled by orders from Indian Railways and metro projects in various cities. BEML delivered 150 coaches for metro systems and 200 wagons for freight operations during the year.

Defence & Aerospace: This emerging segment contributed 10% of revenue, with a 30% growth, supported by contracts for specialist vehicles and components from the Indian defence sector.

Strategic Initiatives

BEML has undertaken several strategic initiatives to sustain its growth trajectory. The company invested ₹300 crore in expanding its manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru and Kolar Gold Fields, focusing on automation and digitalization to enhance productivity. Additionally, BEML has strengthened its research and development efforts, introducing three new products, including an electric dump truck and a high-speed rail inspection vehicle.

The company has also expanded its international footprint, securing export orders worth ₹500 crore from countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. BEML is exploring joint ventures with global players to develop next-generation mining equipment and rail systems.

Outlook

Looking ahead, BEML aims to achieve a revenue target of ₹6,500 crore by FY 2027-28, driven by the government's focus on infrastructure development, the National Infrastructure Pipeline, and increased mining activity. The company is also focusing on sustainability, with plans to introduce more electric and hybrid vehicles in its portfolio. With a strong order book and strategic initiatives in place, BEML is well-positioned to capitalize on the growth opportunities in the domestic and international markets.
