Dexian Strengthens India Presence with Major Chennai Global Capability Centre Expansion
US-headquartered talent consulting and technology solutions firm Dexian has significantly expanded its footprint in India by inaugurating a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) facility in Chennai. This strategic move underscores the company's commitment to leveraging India's robust talent pool for advanced technological solutions.
Strategic Focus on High-Growth Technology Domains
According to Maruf Ahmed, the Global Chief Executive of Dexian, the newly established Chennai centre will concentrate on several critical and rapidly evolving technology sectors. The primary areas of focus include digital engineering, data and analytics, cloud transformation, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence solutions. This diversified portfolio positions Dexian to address complex client needs in an increasingly digital global economy.
Ahmed highlighted the proven capabilities of the India team, noting that the company's innovative agri-tech platform and agri-intelligence system were entirely developed and scaled by its Indian workforce. This success story demonstrates the centre's potential for driving innovation and delivering value.
Aggressive Growth Targets and Expansion Plans
Dexian's India operations are headquartered in Chennai, with additional offices located in Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Noida. The company currently employs over 2,000 professionals across the country. Ahmed announced an ambitious target of achieving a 50% increase in its Indian headcount within the next 12 to 18 months.
Specific to the Chennai hub, Dexian currently has a workforce exceeding 650 employees. The company plans to expand this number to approximately 900, reinforcing the city's role as a key operational nexus. The expansion strategy includes penetrating other talent-rich cities across India to further bolster its GCC offerings, particularly for mid-market clients seeking specialized technology and consulting services.
This expansion not only enhances Dexian's service delivery capabilities but also contributes to the local economy by creating high-skilled employment opportunities. The focus on areas like AI and cybersecurity aligns with global technological trends and India's growing prominence as a hub for IT and business process management.
