ITC Chairman Meets Bengal CM on Investment Plans

Kolkata: ITC chairman Sanjiv Puri called on West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday and discussed the conglomerate's future investment plans in the state. Officials said Puri apprised the CM about the company's plans to invest in paper, hotels, and solar power projects. The company has already announced five more hotels in the state.

ITC's Presence in West Bengal

ITC has 20 manufacturing units in Bengal, including 11 food factories, seven hotels, and the Fortune and Storii brands. The company works with three lakh farmers in the state. It has also set up a global AI hub in association with Google. ITC has recently made new investments in Panchla.

New Initiatives and Back-End Hub

Earlier, Puri said a new company has been formed to serve as a pan-ITC hub to integrate all back-end operations for the group in Kolkata. ITC is also working across agriculture value chains such as milk, potato, and wheat.
