Annual Meetings Reveal Strong Performance

Officials announced these numbers during two important gatherings. The 79th annual general meeting of Amul Dairy and the 60th AGM of the Amul Research and Development Association took place on Saturday. Both meetings occurred at the Sardar Patel Auditorium in Anand.

Leadership Addresses Milk Producers

Sabhesinh Parmar, the newly appointed chairman of Amul Dairy, spoke to attendees at the event. He shared details about the cooperative's extensive network. Amul Dairy currently collaborates with more than seven lakh milk producers. Out of this large group, over four lakh producers supply milk every single day.

The union managed an average daily milk procurement of 48.16 lakh kilograms during the last financial year. This consistent supply forms the backbone of their operations.

Substantial Benefits for Farmers

Parmar highlighted the financial support provided to farmers. Amul Dairy paid Rs 1,028 per kilogram of fat to milk producers. This payment rate shows a significant increase of 9.39% from the previous year.

The cooperative also extended insurance benefits exceeding Rs 2 crore. These benefits reached the families of more than 98 milk producers, offering them crucial financial security.

Advances in Animal Husbandry

The chairman detailed several advancements in animal breeding and care. Amul Dairy used over 10 lakh doses of sorted sex semen. This quantity represents the highest usage in the entire country.

The Amul semen station earned an 'A' grade certification from the Government of India. This recognition underscores their commitment to quality standards.

During the year, 3,894 embryo transfers took place. These procedures resulted in the birth of 618 high milk-yielding calves, improving the genetic quality of dairy herds.

Veterinary Services and Technology

Amul Dairy operates 14 veterinary centres across its network. Through these facilities, they provided doorstep treatment to 6.96 lakh animals. This service ensures better health for dairy cattle.

The cooperative fitted more than 2,000 cows with digital cow belts. These devices monitor animal health and productivity. Amul Dairy plans to expand this technological initiative further in coming months.

Geographical Expansion and Infrastructure

Amul Dairy expanded its milk procurement operations to several new states. The cooperative now operates in West Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Tamil Nadu. They have also started procurement processes in Karnataka and Odisha.

Infrastructure upgrades at their Anand facility included important installations. Workers set up new RO plants and soft water facilities. They also implemented automatic milk sampling systems to improve quality control.
