A fire erupted at an ethanol manufacturing unit, Bharat Spirits Private Limited, located in Aduwal village, Nalagarh, on the night of June 18, 2026. The blaze resulted in damages estimated at Rs 15 lakh, though no casualties were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Fire Incident Details
The fire was reported at approximately 9:20 pm, prompting an immediate response from the Nalagarh Fire Station. A team of 11 firefighters, along with three fire tenders, rushed to the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire started near the conveyor belt area. It took the crew nearly two and a half hours to bring the flames under control.
Response and Damage Control
Santosh Sharma, Commandant of Home Guards in Solan, stated that the timely intervention of the firefighting team prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the plant. This swift action saved property valued at around Rs 70 lakh. Thick plumes of smoke and towering flames were visible from a distance as firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze.
No Casualties Reported
Fortunately, there were no injuries or loss of life in the incident. The plant's staff and firefighters acted promptly to ensure the safety of all personnel on site.
