Nashik Factory Fire: No Injuries, Major Blaze Extinguished

Major Fire Incident at Nashik Manufacturing Unit

A serious fire erupted on Wednesday morning at a factory specializing in the production of incense sticks and soaps, located in Sinnar taluka along the busy Nashik-Pune highway. The incident, which occurred at approximately 9:30 AM, prompted a swift and coordinated response from multiple firefighting teams to contain the blaze.

Intensive Firefighting Efforts

Firefighters from the Sinnar, Malegaon, and Nashik Road fire brigades were immediately dispatched to the scene. They worked tirelessly for close to five hours to extinguish the flames, which had engulfed the manufacturing unit. The fire tenders made several rounds to refill water, demonstrating the challenging nature of the operation.

Senior officers from the MIDC Sinnar police station confirmed that there was no loss of life or injuries reported. At the time of the fire, about five workers were inside the factory. Upon realizing the potential for the fire to spread rapidly, they quickly evacuated the premises and called for emergency assistance.

Cause and Impact of the Blaze

The exact cause of the fire remains undetermined and is currently under investigation. However, it was noted that several drums containing chemicals and raw materials caught fire, contributing to the intensity of the blaze. The incident was promptly reported to the fire brigade of the Sinnar Municipal Council and the Malegaon MIDC, with additional support from a fire tender dispatched from Nashik.

Inspector Bharat Jadhav of the MIDC Sinnar police station stated, "The blaze was extinguished around 2:30 PM." The factory's proximity to the Nashik-Pune highway along the Sinnar-Nashik stretch attracted a large crowd of onlookers, who gathered upon spotting the huge flames billowing from the structure.

Assessment of Damages

Police officials indicated that an estimate of the financial losses caused by the fire will be determined at a later stage. The incident highlights the importance of industrial safety measures and emergency preparedness in manufacturing units, particularly those handling flammable materials.

This fire incident serves as a reminder for businesses to regularly review and enhance their fire safety protocols to prevent such occurrences in the future.
