New Delhi: Nine individuals were rescued after a fire erupted at a cooler grass manufacturing facility in outer Delhi's Bawana area during the early hours of Saturday. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) reported receiving an alert about the blaze at 3:15 am, prompting the immediate dispatch of eight fire tenders staffed by approximately 48 firefighters to the scene.
Firefighting and Rescue Operations
Upon arrival, firefighters initiated a coordinated operation to contain the flames and evacuate those trapped within the premises. Officials noted that thick smoke had engulfed sections of the unit, necessitating a thorough search and rescue mission. The highly flammable nature of the grass stockpile exacerbated the fire, causing it to spread rapidly across the facility.
No Casualties Reported
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported, according to officials. The rescue efforts continued for nearly two hours before the fire was successfully brought under control. The blaze was declared fully extinguished at around 5:00 am.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, with authorities yet to ascertain the triggering factor.
