PAMETI Launches Specialized Training Program for Fertilizer Entrepreneurs
In a significant move to bolster agricultural entrepreneurship, the Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) recently concluded a comprehensive 15-day course focused on integrated nutrient management. This intensive program was specifically designed to equip trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully launch and operate fertilizer businesses, thereby enhancing service to the farming community.

The event was graced by Dr. Kirpal Singh Aulakh, the former Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), who served as the chief guest. In his address, Dr. Aulakh highlighted the critical importance of adopting appropriate technologies for fertilizer use. He asserted that such advancements in agricultural extension work would not only garner a substantial positive response but also create numerous employment opportunities for the youth, contributing to rural economic development.

Dr. K.B. Singh, Director of PAMETI, elaborated on the program's core objectives. He stated that the training was meticulously crafted for new fertilizer entrepreneurs and dealers, aiming to transform them into effective para-extension workers. Dr. Singh further explained that the initiative is expected to significantly aid entrepreneurs and dealers across Punjab in establishing new ventures within the agricultural sector, thereby boosting their operational efficiency and business acumen.
Vandana, the Deputy Director (IT) and Training Coordinator, provided crucial details regarding the program's sponsorship. She confirmed that the course was sponsored by the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) based in Hyderabad, under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of India, underscoring the national importance of this training endeavor.

Dr. Baldev Singh Naurth, a retired Joint Director of Agriculture (Inputs) who served as the Facilitator for the course, shared his extensive experiences and insights. He emphasized the long-term importance of such training programs, outlining several key benefits:
