In preparation for the re-examination of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) scheduled for June 21, the UT Administration has implemented comprehensive security measures to ensure a smooth, fair, and transparent testing process.
Exam Centers and Candidate Numbers
A total of seven examination centers have been established in schools across Chandigarh. Approximately 3,800 candidates are expected to appear for the undergraduate medical and dental entrance test.
Security Arrangements
Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav was briefed on the preparations. The transportation of confidential examination material from designated banks to all centers will be conducted under strict security escort by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), along with the respective center superintendent. This ensures the integrity and safety of question papers at every stage.
Electronic jammers have been installed at all examination centers to prevent the use of electronic devices or mobile phones and to curb unfair means during the exam.
Frisking Protocol
A double-layer frisking procedure will be implemented at entry points. The first level will be conducted by local police, while the second level will be carried out by a professional agency hired by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This aims to prevent the entry of prohibited items.
Facilities for Candidates
All basic amenities, including drinking water, seating arrangements, adequate lighting, ventilation, and sanitation facilities, have been provided at every examination center for the convenience and comfort of candidates.
Monitoring and Compliance
Duty magistrates have been appointed at each center to monitor the entire examination process, maintain order, and address any emergencies that may arise during the test.
Candidates are advised to carry their admit card and a valid government-issued photo identity card on the day of the examination. They are also requested to report to their respective centers at least one hour before the commencement of the test.
Appeal for Cooperation
The UT Administration has appealed for full cooperation from candidates, their guardians, and the general public to ensure the smooth conduct of the NEET-UG re-examination.
