Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena held a meeting with officials on Friday to review arrangements for the NEET (UG)-2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. He urged all staff assigned duties to perform with dedication, honesty, and sensitivity, warning that negligence would not be tolerated.
Exam Centers and Candidates
A total of five examination centers have been set up in the district, where 1,980 candidates will appear for the test.
Basic Amenities and Accessibility
The DC directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for drinking water, toilets, and electricity at all centers. He also instructed that wheelchairs and ramps be made available for candidates with disabilities.
Security and Traffic Management
Meena issued instructions for smooth traffic management outside centers and adequate parking. The Police Department has implemented comprehensive security measures at each venue.
The DC stated that the administration is prepared to conduct the re-examination peacefully and transparently. Shahabad Sub-divisional Magistrate Shambhu Rathi has been appointed as nodal officer.
Exam Schedule and Entry Rules
The NEET (UG) exam will be held on June 21 from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. Candidates can enter centers between 11 am and 1:30 pm, after which gates will close. Biometric verification and separate frisking counters for male and female candidates have been arranged. There will be one security frisking counter per 100 candidates and one biometric device per 48 candidates.
CCTV cameras, jammers, and other equipment have been installed at all centers. Jammers will be activated at 1:45 pm on exam day to avoid interference with biometric verification.
Accommodation and Transport
The DC said accommodation arrangements have been made in dharamshalas for candidates and parents. Additionally, electric buses have been arranged for transportation.
Parental Concerns
Parents expressed that their children are under immense pressure due to the re-examination. A father, who works in the Health Department, said, "Not only the children but parents are also stressed. There is a sense of uncertainty. Children were relaxed after the initial exam, but the re-examination announcement forced them to restart preparations." Another parent added, "Children are going through a tough time and have isolated themselves. They fear they may not score well due to broken momentum."
