The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a final advisory for candidates appearing in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate), or NEET UG 2026, scheduled for today across India and at overseas centres. The advisory details key entry timings, required documents, and examination-day instructions for over 22 lakh aspirants.
Entry Schedule and Key Timings
According to NTA, entry to examination centres begins at 11:00 AM. The last permitted entry time is 1:30 PM, after which no candidate will be allowed to enter. Candidates have been advised to account for possible traffic delays and arrive well in advance. The agency also urged candidates to stay hydrated and avoid carrying prohibited items.
Documents and Photographs Required
Candidates must carry their admit card along with a valid photo identity document for verification. NTA additionally instructed candidates to bring two passport-size photographs. The examination is being conducted in English and 12 Indian languages across 5,440 centres in 551 cities in India and 14 centres abroad.
Security and Monitoring Measures
More than 95,000 examination rooms have been equipped with CCTV coverage. A total of 1,38,560 CCTV cameras and 51,311 jammers have been deployed to strengthen security. Around 6,700 observers are stationed at centres, while over 100 virtual observers monitor live CCTV feeds. Candidate verification is supported by 38,795 frisking personnel and 48,448 biometric verification staff, with face authentication also in use.
Facilities at Centres
In coordination with state authorities, centres have been equipped with drinking water, ORS, ambulances, and shaded waiting areas for parents. Every examination room has a wall clock, and additional rough-work pages have been arranged for candidates. NTA advised candidates and parents to rely only on official communications and ignore unverified claims online.
