APG Shimla University, in partnership with NextGen, launched a 34-day Counselling Awareness Caravan from its campus on Thursday. The initiative aims to provide career guidance, admission counselling, and awareness of higher education opportunities to students across Himachal Pradesh.

Caravan to Cover Multiple Districts

The caravan will travel through various districts of the state over 34 days, helping students and parents make informed decisions about academic and career paths. The campaign focuses on emerging career opportunities, scholarships, skill development, and industry-oriented education.

Bridging Education and Industry

Gurkirpal Singh, Assistant Director of CTPL, said the initiative aims to bridge the gap between education and industry by promoting awareness of skill-based learning, professional development, and career-focused academic programmes. He added that the campaign will help students understand the evolving job market and make informed career choices.

The caravan will also provide information on various scholarship opportunities available to students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to higher education. Skill development workshops and sessions on industry trends are planned as part of the outreach.

Focus on Industry-Ready Education

The campaign underscores the need for education that aligns with industry demands. By highlighting skill-based learning and professional development, the caravan aims to prepare students for competitive careers. The university hopes to reach a wide audience across the state, including rural areas where access to career counselling is limited.

APG Shimla University has been actively involved in educational outreach, and this caravan is part of its ongoing efforts to support students in making strategic academic choices. The collaboration with NextGen adds expertise in career guidance and industry connections.
