Sikh Regiment and GNDU Join Forces to Educate Agniveers
Sikh Regiment, GNDU Partner for Agniveer Education

The Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Amritsar, Punjab, aimed at empowering Agniveers through educational and skill development opportunities.

Focus on Holistic Development

This partnership is designed to improve the academic qualifications, professional skills, and long-term career prospects of Agniveers. It seeks to equip them with valuable competencies for both military service and civilian employment.

Under the agreement, Agniveers will have access to diploma programs that can be completed within six months. Additionally, undergraduate degree programs such as Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) are available, with a completion timeframe of three years.

Legacy of the Sikh Regiment

The Sikh Regiment is one of the most decorated infantry regiments in the Indian Army, celebrated for its martial history, gallantry, and numerous battle honors. Officially raised in August 1846 by the British East India Company, it has served with distinction in major global conflicts and every significant post-independence Indian military operation. With over 70 battle honors and more than 1,650 gallantry awards, it remains among the most decorated regiments in the Indian military.
