A training programme for the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) 2026 counselling process was conducted on Friday at New Town, Kolkata. The event saw participation from Verification Centre in-charges who will oversee the document verification for admissions.
Verification Centres and Seat Coverage
A total of 53 Verification Centres, including 31 from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Indian Institute of Technology (IIIT), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTI), will verify candidates for admission to 114 participating institutes through CSAB 2026. More than 48,000 seats will be covered under the counselling process, ensuring a wide range of opportunities for aspiring students.
Key Officials and Technical Sessions
Prof VMSR Murthy, Chairman of CSAB 2026 and Director of IIEST, Shibpur, along with Prof Pratik Dutta, Chairman LOC CSAB/DASA 2026, explained the admission and verification procedures to the attending Verification Centre in-charges. Their detailed briefing aimed to streamline the process and address any queries from the centres.
Representatives from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) delivered a technical presentation on the software interface and document verification process for the counselling procedure. This session equipped the in-charges with the necessary technical knowledge to handle the online verification system effectively.
