First Round of UCET-2026 Counselling Underway at GNDU
Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Amritsar began the counselling process for the University Common Entrance Test (UCET)-2026 on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The first round of counselling will continue until July 7, with the schedule for the second round to be announced on July 6.
According to university officials, a total of 2,677 candidates appeared for the UCET, out of which 1,971 qualified for admission to various science and engineering programmes. On the first day of counselling, approximately 400 candidates reported to participate in the admission process for undergraduate programmes in science, mathematics, and engineering disciplines.
Departmental Support and Document Verification
Heads of respective departments, faculty members, and departmental office staff were present throughout the counselling process to assist students and their parents. Their responsibilities included verifying documents, providing academic guidance, and ensuring the smooth completion of admission formalities.
The counselling process is designed to allocate seats based on merit and candidate preferences. GNDU has emphasized transparency and efficiency in the admission process.
