Deputy Commissioner Aparajita recently honoured several government officers and social workers with certificates of appreciation for their generous donations of competitive examination books to the district administration's 'Gyan Daan Book Bank' initiative. The campaign, launched under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner, continues to receive strong support from both officials and the public.

Deputy Commissioner Lauds Donors

Speaking at the event, Aparajita praised the contributors, stating that donating books is one of the noblest forms of charity, as it can transform the lives of deserving and underprivileged students. She urged officers, employees, and citizens to contribute to the initiative so that students from economically weaker sections can access quality study materials free of cost. 'Books donated today can shape the future of a needy and meritorious student tomorrow,' she said, adding that the initiative not only provides educational resources but also boosts students' confidence and helps them achieve their goals.

Collection and Impact

The Deputy Commissioner announced that over 2,300 books have been collected so far under the initiative, which operates at the DIET campus on Jind Road in Kaithal. The collection includes books for a wide range of competitive and entrance examinations, such as UPSC, HPSC, NEET, JEE Main, International Olympiads, CUET, CET, CGL, CPT, CA, Banking Services, Sainik School, Army Public School, and various other recruitment and admission tests.

Aparajita emphasised that the primary objective of the district administration is to promote a culture of knowledge-sharing in society, enabling more students to benefit from quality educational resources and build a brighter future. She also provided details on how to donate: books can be given on working days between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Book Bank on the DIET campus. District Math Specialist Chhatrapal has been appointed as the nodal officer for the initiative, and citizens can seek information by contacting 94679-20070 or 96715-86626.
