Examination Details
The computer-based test was held between May 12 and May 20, 2026, across 11 sessions. Of the 3.21 lakh registered candidates, 2.85 lakh appeared, resulting in an attendance rate of 88.57%. The test was conducted at 187 centres spread across 36 districts of Maharashtra. Unlike previous years, no examination centres were set up outside the state this time.
Among the candidates who appeared, 1,74,698 were boys, 1,10,413 were girls, and 10 were transgender candidates. Three of the 12 perfect scorers are from Pune district.
New Two-Attempt System
This year marks the first implementation of the two-attempt system for MHT-CET PCM. Candidates who appeared for both attempts will have their higher percentile considered for admissions. A CET Cell official explained, "Candidates who appeared for both attempts of MHT CET will be considered for admission based on the higher percentile obtained in either of the two examinations. The move was introduced this year to provide students with an additional opportunity, similar to the JEE (Main) pattern."
The official also clarified the difference between percentile and percentage, stating, "MHT CET results are declared in percentile. It reflects a candidate's relative performance compared to other test-takers and is the basis for ranking and admissions."
Future Steps
The results are accessible through candidates' login portals on the CET Cell website. The admission process for professional courses under the PCM stream is expected to commence shortly. This year, the CET Cell also conducted two attempts for MHT CET PCB and MBA/MMS entrance examinations, aiming to provide greater flexibility and improve students' chances of securing better scores.
